Social

Tennis GroupRacquet Network was created to promote participation in racquet sports of all kinds. Originally created as a network of two Calgary squash players in 2004, Racquet Network has grow to include more than 5000 members worldwide.

While most of the world since 2004 has come to focus on the concept of social networking, Racquet Network maintains a core commitment to real people and to good old fashioned personal networking.

This is not to say that we don’t see value in social networking. We do — and our website offers many opportunities for our members to engage in social networking activities. However, our primary focus remains on getting players off of the couch and onto the court.

Face-to-Face Social Networking

One of the first things you should notice about our website is the enormous number of groups that are available under the GROUPS tab. The vast majority of these groups are free SOCIAL NETWORKS that were created to help our members find other players in their area.

In every city, we start off by offering a single group for each sport. As participation in these groups grows, we can offer groups in many variations. In Calgary where Racquet Network started, for example, we offer the following:

  • Public Groups
  • Social Ladders
  • Competitive Ladders
  • Team Ladders
  • Private Ladders

We are willing to create new groups for any city/town and/or racquet sport. So if we don’t have one for you yet, just send us an email. We will generally create it within one business day.

Online Social Networking

In addition to face-to-face social networking, Racquet Network offers several online social networking opportunities for our friends, members and loyal customers. The extent to which each member dips into these opportunities is entirely up to them. However, we can tell you that players who surround themselves with active racquet sports players tend to play a LOT more often than those who don’t.

Facebook

Like us on Facebook and start connecting with racquet sports players from around the world. Liking us will add us to your news feed and help to ensure that you are kept in the loop. You will be amongst the first to find out about new leagues and activities. You will also have the opportunity to win prizes and earn bonus Pro Shop Credits from Racquet Network.

Twitter

Follow us on Twitter. Get Rain Out notices on your device. Find out about new lessons and programs before they fill up. Twitter is also the place to go for freebies. If we are clearing anything out at an amazing price, we offer it to our Twitter followers first.

LinkedIn

In addition to being racquet sports players, many of our members are also professionals. Connect with other players at a professional level through our free group on Linked In.

Pro Shop Credits

Every message posted on this site earns money. We deposit this money into each member’s PRO SHOP CREDITS account. Members can then choose to spend this money on themselves or donate it to an affiliated club to pay for things like nets, balls and shuttles. The more members talk to each other on our site, the more they earn.

Galleries

Racquet Network members have the ability to upload photos and create their own galleries. This is a great way to tell the stories of their teams, clubs, leagues and local networks. Every image posted to a gallery earns Pro Shop Credits.
