Box League Benefits
|
| |
| |
|
Come and play with us. This league is open to men and women of all levels.
New players are welcome. Joining a box league is an excellent way to meet
new people and expand your personal network of players and contacts.
March 2010 Box League Results
This league is currently on hiatus. Play will begin again on May 1, 2010. Players
who intend to participate should join early in order to avoid being trapped in the
bottom box at the start of the new season.
How Does This Work?
Contact the other players in your box early in the month. Agree to a date, time
and location. Meet to play your games. The winner is then responsible for reporting
the scores through our website.
All new players enter through the bottom box and play their way up. Eventually,
they rise to a level where they find players with similar skills.
Players are free to play wherever they like. However most games will occur at
public facilities like these:
City of Calgary Public Tennis Courts
Oakridge Community Centre
Players should contact each other to determine which of these locations is
most convenient.
General Box League Rules
This box league is open to
registered league players.
Fees are paid only when entering the league. After that, players may
continue to play for as long as they stay alive.

included when play begins again on May 1.
The player who finishes the month in the top spot in the top box is
declared BOX LEAGUE CHAMPION for that month.
The player who finishes the season in the top spot in the top box is
declared BOX LEAGUE CHAMPION for that year and wins a Racquet Network prize
package.
The official ball for this league is the Wilson US Open (Heavy Duty).
Any player has the right to demand that a tennis box league match be played with new
balls. However, any player who makes this demand must provide such balls from a newly
opened can.
This is an outdoor league. Games must be played outdoors. Players who
wish to play indoors should join our Indoor Tennis Box League.
