Do I need insurance to teach for Racquet Network?

As of June 1, 2009, Racquet Network will require proof of insurance for all tennis instructors teaching on publicly-owned courts. Since any member in good stand of any of the major tennis professional associations in North America is automatically insured, proof of membership is all that will be necessary at this time.

Proof of insurance is not required for indoor racquet sports instructors (yet) because instructors are marginally protected by the facility owner's insurance. Some protection is also offered by various racquet sports professional associations under conditions specified in their insurance policies.

In order to bring unity to this issue and in order to ensure that all of our instructors are equally protected, Racquet Network will begin carrying our own liability insurance in 2010. In order to be covered by this insurance, instructors will have to pay a SMALL annual fee. The more instructors we have, the smaller this fee will be.
