TENNIS LESSONS CALGARY

TENNIS LESSONS CALGARY

In addition to being a worldwide network for racquet sports players, Racquet Network also works with racquet sports instructors to offer lessons locally.

In Calgary, where Racquet Network first started back in 2004, we have a large network of instructors and are able to offer both private lessons and group lessons.

Outside of Calgary we are able to refer lessons to professionals in our network who are affilated with major teaching organizations.

JOIN OUR TEAM

Racquet Network offers full-time, part-time, seasonal and casual employment for Calgary racquet sports instructors and coaches in the following sports:

  • recreational tennis
  • high performance tennis
  • recreational squash
  • high performance squash
  • badminton
  • racquetball
  • pickleball

Certified adult instructors may register with us to teach private lessons and begin building a regular clientele and a casual/seasonal basis. Some instructors get started with Racquet Network on a casual basis and then move on to positions in other clubs. Some instructors have full time employment elsewhere but register with us either because they enjoy teaching or because they want to get staff discounts on equipment.

Please note that instructors/coaches seeking full time employment with Racquet Network must be cross trained in at least three different racquet sports. One of these sports must be tennis. Instructors/coaches who specialize in only one sport will be limited to part time and/or seasonal employment.

HOW TO APPLY

Instructors are invited to come to our store to register in person.

Please bring your resume in to us at 4 10015 Oakfield Dr SW. We do not accept resumes by email or fax.

HOW TO SUCCEED

Racquet Network monitors instructor activity and feedback from clients. Instructors who are actively involved in our network, actively engaged in our ladders and leagues and getting positive reviews from customers are often hired by Racquet Network to teach group lessons, run leagues and organize tournaments. Racquet Network even hires certified instructors to work in our Pro Shop serving customers and stringing racquets.

BENEFITS

Regardless of how often they teach, all registered Racquet Network instructors enjoy staff prices on racquets, shoes, apparel and accessories.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

All instructors must be at least 18 years old, must be legally eligible to work in Canada and must have a teaching certificate from a recognized racquet sports organization (such as Tennis Canada, PTR or USTA).

If Racquet Network agrees to hire them, applicants must provide the following:

1. Proof of recent police background check
2. Signed noncompete and nondisclosure agreement
3. Social Insurance Number

TIPS

Racquet Network takes the issue of instructor involvement very seriously. In addition to evidence of competence, we are looking for signs of enthusiasm. The instructors who get the most work with us are those who are most involved in our leagues, ladders and tournaments. We also notice those who spend time on our website congratulating and encouraging our customers for their efforts.

* Hiring Now

All new applicants start out as Instructors teaching private lessons. Those who prove themselves are invited to assist head coaches with leagues and group lessons.

Seasonal Head Coaches are appointed to specific facilities on a seasonal basis. They are responsible for delivering all programs at that facility for the entire season, usually with the assistance of one or two assistants. Since all appointments are seasonal, there is no guarantee that Head Coaches will be reappointed to the same facility the following season.

When Racquet Network chooses Seasonal Head Coaches enthusiasm is a critical consideration. Instructors who are actively involved in our leagues and ladders and who are actively engaged with customers on our website are always considered to be top contenders for head coaching positions.
