Apike Pickleball Paddle – 8.0 ounces/226 grams
Created by a small, home-based business in Surrey, BC, Canada, the Apike pickleball paddle is the most technologically advanced pickleball paddle on the market. The Apike pickleball paddle was the very first of the so-called 3G (third generation) pickleball paddles.
Apike Pickleball Paddle – 3G Pioneer
Like all 3G pickleball paddles, the Apike is a one-piece paddle made of resins and advanced polymers. It does not have an edge guard and is extraordinarily light. It is the preferred paddle for competitive pickleball players in Canada.
Canadian Championship Record
Every gold medal at the 2011 Canadian National Pickleball Championships was awarded to players using Apike pickleball paddles. Gold medalists using Apike pickleball paddles won every event including Men’s singles, Women’s singles, Men’s doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
Superior Control
The super lightweight Apike pickleball paddle allows superior control and placement. Most intermediate and advanced players picking an Apike up for the first time will also notice a modest power increase of 5 to 10 per cent.
Anti-Vibration Features
Pickleball players at all levels will also notice an immediate increase in comfort. The Apike pickleball paddle’s anti-vibration features reduce elbow pain and make it the most comfortable paddle on the market today. Many players who use it claim that the Apike has helped them cure persistent tennis elbow issues.
Buyer Beware
There have been some inconsistent reports of paint flakes and chips along the outside edges of some Apike pickleball paddles after various amounts of use. Since these blemishes are purely cosmetic and do not affect paddle performance, the manufacturer does not provide refunds or exchanges. Racquet Network can confirm that this has been an issue with approximately 5% of the Apike pickleball paddles sold in 2012.
