  • Tennis Racquet Stringing Options for Competitive Juniors - Why do so many of Alberta’s top competitive junior tennis athletes and their parents choose to string at Racquet Network? Probably because our expert staff and coaches work with parents to protect the health of their junior athletes. Keep in mind that we have been working with junior tennis players and their families since 2004. […]
  • Is Your Racquet a String Eater? - Take a good look at the racquet in the image at the top of this article. It won’t take you long to see why the string broke where it broke. It broke because the grommet for that string hole is both crushed and split. Two holes to the left of that, another grommet is broken. […]
  • Why Do Strings Break? - Here at Racquet Network, our stringers re-string nearly 2000 racquets a year. Less than a dozen racquets a year come back for warranty repairs. This means that 99.994% of the racquets we repair are fine while 0.006% experience premature string breakage. Yet in almost every one of the 0.006% of cases where strings break prematurely, […]

  • Custom Stringing vs Discount Stringing - Ian asks: “Why does custom stringing cost more than discount stringing?” The one-word answer is: efficiency. Discount stringing customers save money because they have fewer options. Our stringers can stack up a bunch of discount stringing racquets for five or six days and then bang them all out at the same time without having to […]
  • Where to Buy Stringing Machines in Canada - Racquet stringing machines are like everything else in life. You get what you pay for. Table top racquet stringing machines, in our expert opinion, are almost useless. While they can be used to put string in a racquet, table top machines are not accurate and cannot be used to produce any volume. They are not […]

I have used Tecnifibre 305 string for 5 years, and I can tell you that 305 is far and away the best string that I’ve used. It’s slippery texture allows you to put spin, bite, and cut on a squash ball like no other brand, kind of like a poly tennis string. However, unlike a poly tennis string, 305 is soft and playable and gives you as much power as you could as for. It’s the total package.

The only downside is durability, as 305 tends to break earlier than Tecnifibre’s Dynamax string. However, in terms of playability, this string is the best I’ve ever used, far better than the Dynamax.

Everybody I know loves 305 green. I don’t know why. I hate it. When I sting with this, I break a string within two weeks. When I use Ashaway, I can go two moths without breaking a string. My advice is save your money. Ashaway is cheaper and lasts longer. The only reason the pros use this is because they get it for free.

I totally get why so many top pros use this string. It has amazing feel. It might not last forever like shitty Ashway string, but who cares. You should be restringing every two or three weeks anyway. Five stars for Technifiber 305!!!

I restring every three to four weeks. This is my favourite string. Every time I take a break and try something else, I am disappointed and end up coming back to good old 305. I guess this is why most of the world’s top players use it. There really is nothing better.
