More information about racquet stringing:

  • Discount Racquet Stringing in Calgary - With more than 150 kinds of string in stock at any given moment, Racquet Network is well-known in Calgary for offering custom racquet stringing. Since the racquet sports player network was founded in 2004, the southwest Calgary racquet store has turned out thousands of customized tennis, squash, badminton and racquetball racquets to some of our […]
  • Is Your Racquet a String Eater? - Take a good look at the racquet in the image at the top of this article. It won’t take you long to see why the string broke where it broke. It broke because the grommet for that string hole is both crushed and split. Two holes to the left of that, another grommet is broken. […]

  • Why Do Strings Break? - Here at Racquet Network, our stringers re-string nearly 2000 racquets a year. Less than a dozen racquets a year come back for warranty repairs. This means that 99.994% of the racquets we repair are fine while 0.006% experience premature string breakage. Yet in almost every one of the 0.006% of cases where strings break prematurely, […]
  • Custom Stringing vs Discount Stringing - Ian asks: “Why does custom stringing cost more than discount stringing?” The one-word answer is: efficiency. Discount stringing customers save money because they have fewer options. Our stringers can stack up a bunch of discount stringing racquets for five or six days and then bang them all out at the same time without having to […]
  • Where to Buy Stringing Machines in Canada - Racquet stringing machines are like everything else in life. You get what you pay for. Table top racquet stringing machines, in our expert opinion, are almost useless. While they can be used to put string in a racquet, table top machines are not accurate and cannot be used to produce any volume. They are not […]
  • How to Save Money on Custom Racquet Stringing - Want to enjoy all of the benefits of custom racquet stringing without paying full price for everything? Try pre-ordering online. Then drop your racquet off whenever it’s convenient. You will get exactly the same result as when you come into the store and place your order in person, but you will save money every time. […]

  • Tennis Racquet Stringing Options for Competitive Juniors - Why do so many of Alberta’s top competitive junior tennis athletes and their parents choose to string at Racquet Network? Probably because our expert staff and coaches work with parents to protect the health of their junior athletes. Keep in mind that we have been working with junior tennis players and their families since 2004. […]

More information about badminton racquets:

  • Best Doubles Badminton Racquets - What is the best racquet for doubles badminton? We hear this question at lot in our southwest Calgary store. It seems like a simple question. But it’s not. In general, we advise players to test drive quality racquets before buying them. Customers in our Try Before You Buy program test drive more than a thousand […]
  • How Self-Serve Stores Trick You - The worst thing about shopping in the big self-serve sporting goods stores is that you don’t know what you are buying. And more often than not, the staff don’t know what you are buying either. Take the racquet in this photo, for example. Is it an adult racquet? Is it a kid’s racquet? How can […]
  • Badminton Racquets for Advanced Females - The differences between advanced and elite female badminton players are typically differences of degree. In other words, both are strong, but elite players are a bit stronger. Both are fast, but elite players are a bit faster. And both have good timing, but elite players are just a bit better in this area. As a […]

  • Yonex Arcsaber 11 Racquet Review - As my readers already know, I have returned to badminton recently after a break of several years. Over the first month, I experimented with an number of Yonex badminton racquets before finally settling on the Nanoray GlanZ as the best frame for my game at that moment. That decision was made a month ago. At […]
  • Badminton Racquets for Teen Beginners - Teenage beginners are not the same as adult beginners. Therefore they need racquets that are different from adult beginners. For example, younger teens do have adult strength yet. This means that they need more flexible shafts than adults or older teens. While teens often believe that they need the same high-end racquet as their favourite […]
  • Yonex Voltric Series Badminton Racquets - Yonex Voltric series of badminton racquets has been around for nearly twenty years. The vast majority of Voltric frames are made available in Canada by Yonex Canada, but there are always a few specialty frames made for specific markets that are not imported into Canada. • Badminton Racquets for Elite Females - Elite female badminton players can use racquets that are simply not beneficial for players at lower levels. Racquets at this level are stiff with tiny sweet spots. Strung at very high tensions, these racquets rely on the strengths and abilities of the players and do provide any additional power. Below is a sample of badminton […]
