Description

Yonex ™ Power Cushion Eclipsion 3

Our Description

Highly structured shoe suitable for a young foot. Does not fit most athletes over 40 very well.

Sport Suitability

This shoe was created specifically for hard court tennis, but that does not mean it can be used only for tennis. In fact, this shoe is suitable for a wide variety of sports, including:

  • clay court tennis
  • pickleball
  • fencing
  • floor hockey
  • floorball
  • crossminton
  • cross training
  • stage combat

Keep in mind that the sole of this shoe works best on surfaces such as acrylic, vinyl, and carpet. It is not ideal for use on hardwood floors or mats but it can be used on all of them. As always, check with the facility that you will be using to ensure that your choice of footwear complies with their rules.

Width of the Forefoot

Each shoe manufacturer describes the width of their shoes in different ways. This shoe is a men’s standard or a ladies’ wide. Some brands call this a D, some call it a 2.0, some call it both, some call it neither.

Shape of the Toe Box

This shoe follows the general shape of what we call a T2-taper — sometimes called an Roman foot shape. This foot shape features two long toes of approximately equal length followed by three toes that shorten in succession.

As always, we strongly recommend trying shoes on before buying them. There is a lot more to a proper fit than just the length/width. The shape of your toe line plays a major role in overall comfort.

If your feet are wide, book an appointment for a professional shoe fitting.

If your feet are standard width, order online and choose SHIP TO STORE. You will be able to try them on in the pro shop before committing to them.

Warning Signs

The most common warning signs that your shoes do not fit correctly:

  • chaffing, calluses, corns, blisters, bunions, hammertoes
  • pain in joints or knuckles of toes
  • blackened or bruised toenails
  • busting or tearing through sides of shoes
  • busting or tearing through tops of toe boxes

Contrary what what other players may tell you, shoes that are causing injuries to your feet are not the right size. If you are getting injuries of any kind from your shoes, they are the wrong size, the wrong width, the wrong shape, or all of the above.

Shoes that fit properly allow your feet to move athletically inside of the shoe. This includes toe spreading as well as up-down toe movements that are essential for balance and recovery. Shoes that are too tight restrict your feet from making the adjustments necessary for balance.

If standard-width shoes are causing injuries, you may be too wide for them. Book an appointment for a professional shoe fitting with a coach who is ethically bound to give you good advice.

Manufacturer’s Description

Stability, lightweight with superior cushioning.

Yonex Co., Ltd is proud to announce the POWER CUSHION ECLIPSION 3 tennis shoe, launching Feb. 20, 2020*.

The ECLIPSION series was developed for superior footwork with enhanced stability for intermediate to advanced players. The ECLIPSION 3 model features POWER CUSHIONTM+ with new technology and designs, including POWER GRAPHITE DRIVE, a one-piece outsole, and a pinpoint pattern on the clay court models for optimal performance.

POWER CUSHIONTM+ increases shock absorption and repulsion for faster footwork. With the combination of POWER CUSHIONTM+ and POWER GRAPHITE DRIVE, the ECLIPSION 3 has increased mid-foot stability to propel you forward and support your next step.

The new design also features a one-piece outsole and trusted Durable Skin on the upper. The one-piece outsole provides greater surface area for increased contact with the ground, allowing for improved lateral movements and stability. The ECLIPSION 3 is reinforced with Durable Skin – an adaptive material that supports agile footwork – for a stable, yet flexible fit.

For grass and clay-court surfaces, a new pinpoint sole pattern was designed to maximize gripping for optimal slides. With three new patterns that work together to help control the grip and slide, you can push off and recover to your next shot efficiently.

The ECLIPSION 3 was debuted at the ATP Cup in Australia to kick off the 2020 season.

When dropped from 7m above a Power Cushion sheet, an egg will bounce back 4m without damage.

Fig 2. By holding the heel firmly against the insole, the gap between foot and shoe is reduced, improving comfort and performance, ensuring the foot has maximum grip inside the shoe.
