What is syn gut? Synthetic gut is a type of racquet string that was originally created to replace traditional natural gut strings. Today, synthetic gut refers to lower priced strings with medium durability that can be used in tennis, squash, racquetball and speed badminton.

Synthetic gut is most often used in tennis by players who want to pay the lowest possible price when stringing their tennis racquets. It is also commonly used for cross strings by players using hybrid stringing combinations.
