Highly skilled pickleball players know that the single most important component of shot placement is grip tension.
Simply put, players who grip their paddles too tightly miss shots that players with relaxed grips make.
That alone should be enough to convince pickleball players to maintain fresh grips. Sadly however it is not.
In addition to increased accuracy, pickleball players with relaxed grips generate more power and more spin.
They are better dinkers, better lobbers and better servers.
They also make a lot more of their third shot drops than players who grip their racquets too tightly.
And finally — if you are not yet convinced — you should know that players who with relaxed grips are much less likely to develop tennis elbow than players who grip their racquets to firmly.
Custom Grip Building
Come into our shop and let our racquet techs build you a custom super-soft grip for your pickleball paddle.
We will begin by stripping your handle down to the wood.
Once that is done, we will rebuild the base with layers of polyurethane cushioning.
Once we have achieved the precise grip size and amount of cushioning that you want, we will cover the foam layers with polyurethane overgrip.
After that, it is simply a matter of maintenance.
If you want to maintain your new super-soft grip yourself, we will teach you how to do it.
Alternatively, you can just bring it back for periodic maintenance and we will take care of it for you.
