Which Yonex Nanoflare is Best for Me?

Yonex Nanoflare Jr Badminton Racquet Head Blue Green

The Yonex Nanoflare series consists of head-light racquets that also provide extra shuttle speed and distance.

While many players around the world prefer the touch and maneuverability of a head-light racquet, the one downside to these racquets has been sacrificing the shuttle speed and power of a head-heavy racquet.

In 2019, Yonex upended that contradiction with the new Nanoflare 700, a head-light racquet built with unique technology and construction that helps adult players not only play nimbly but also achieve increased shuttle acceleration allowing them to hit deep into their opponent’s court.

To achieve this, designers and engineers at Yonex re-imagined frame design.

Firstly, the Nanoflare 700 was the first racquet to utilize the Sonic Flare System design, utilizing the latest in graphite technologies, such as TORAYCA® M40X*, to create a stable yet highly repulsive head shape.

Additionally, by designing a highly aero-dimensional shape built to compress and “snap back” they were able to realize an ultra-light racquet for players who demand agility, that was also able to launch the shuttle at speeds not before possible in a head-light racquet. This also resulted in a greater hitting feeling and less impact on the player’s arm.

Launching alongside the 700 were four other models in the head-light NANOFLARE series.

The 370 SPEED is designed for advanced players who desire improved smash speeds.

The 270 SPEED is intended for intermediate to advanced players seeking greater clears,

The 170 LIGHT is for beginning players who require the ultimate in lightness and maneuverability.

Meanwhile, the NANOFLARE JR combines the lightweight, maneuverability with added speed, distance and comfort of the 700 in a junior-sized racquet intended for competitive junior athletes.

How to Customize the Yonex Nanoflare 700

Yonex Nanoflare 700 Badminton Racquet Red -Head

About the Yonex Nanoflare 700

The Yonex Nanoflare 700 badminton racquet is a medium flex frame designed for defensive players at the recreational level.

As a medium flex racquet it is unlikely to be used by big strong guys who are heavy smashers. Players of that ilk are more likely to play with stiff or extra stiff frames such as the Nanoflare 370 Speed or something from the Astrox family of smashing racquets.

If you are stringing your Nanoray 700 for the players for whom it is intended, you should not have to use a thick, durable string. In fact, if these are the players who are using it and if they are using nylon shuttles, you are probably best to go with one of these …

Stringing for Nylon Shuttles

If they are using feather shuttles, the best choice will be one of these.

Stringing for Feather Shuttles

And if they are using this racquet for both nylon and feather, then one of these strings should do the trick.

Stringing for BOTH Nylon and Feather Shuttles

Remember — none of the strings above are for exceptionally hard hitters or frequent string breakers because that is not who this racquet is intended for. So if you string with one of the strings above and you find they are breaking too often, you will have to go back to the drawing board and pick something for frequent string breakers (Badminton String for Frequent String Breakers using Nylon Shuttles).

How much does it cost to test drive racquets?

Test driving costs nothing, but customers who enter the program are committing to buying a racquet from us at the end of the one-month trial period.

How does it work?

Test drivers put down a security deposit. This allows them to test drive any racquet we have in our demo program. They can then test each racquet for up to one week. At the end of the one-month trial period, they choose the racquet they want to purchase and their deposit is refunded against the purchase price.

How much is the deposit?

The size of the deposit depends on the number of racquets the customer wants to take out each each week. If they are testing one racquet at a time, the deposit is $50.00. If they are testing two at a time, the deposit is $100.00.

What if I change my mind and do not want to buy a racquet?

Our demo program is only offered to customers who are committed to purchasing a new racquet from us within 30 days. If you do not intend to buy a racquet from us, please do not enter our demo program.

Can I apply my demo deposit to an online racquet purchase?

Our racquet demo program is offered to in-store customers only. Demo deposits can only be applied to in-store purchases. They cannot be applied to online purchases.

How do I start?

Simply make an appointment to come into the store. Bring a valid credit card. One of our experts will set up a demo account and help you choose your first racquet to test drive. This process usually requires about 30 minutes on the first visit. Subsequent visits to drop off and pick up only required a couple of minutes each.
